Many playgroups and baby classes close for the Summer holidays so you may be worried about what you’re going to do with the kids during the long break. Fear not, there are still lots of things to do and we’ve put together a list of local attractions.

Surrey Libraries

Surrey Libraries are free to join and you can borrow up to 20 books per person for free. You can also borrow dvds and audiobooks. The libraries run a free 30-minute rhyme time which is suitable for children under 5.

Ashford – Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30am

Shepperton – Tuesdays at 11am

Staines – Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30am

Sunbury – Fridays at 10:30am and Saturdays at 11am

Lammas Park

The Lammas Recreation Ground is a family park right next to the River Thames. The park has two children’s playgrounds and a splash park which is open during the Summer 10am – 4.45pm with an hour break between 1-2pm to refill the water tanks.

Bedfont Lakes Country Park

Bedfont Lakes is a beautiful nature reserve with two children’s play areas, a small farm (£1 per person entry) and special events and activities for children during school holidays. Hounslow Urban Farm

A lovely family farm with goats, pigs, sheep, rabbits and alpacas. The farm also has a range of exotic animals from The Tropical Zoo, including snakes, lizards, mini-beasts, frogs and tortoises. Don’t miss the animal encounters where you can get up close and personal with the animals.

Children under 2 are free.

Sunbury Garden Play

A family run pre-school outdoor creative play venue based in Lower Sunbury. You will be welcomed into a relaxed, safe and creative outdoor environment, for your little ones to play freely.

Local Conversation in Stanwell

Park Play will take place every Tuesday 2pm-4pm during school holidays. Park Play is a free activity for all ages and includes lots of equipment at the park to encourage families to join up with a picnic. Kids can take part in the sports including tennis, football, rounders, skipping, bowling and a sensory table for younger children.

Bouncing Bunnies Play Café

Bouncing Bunnies is a family run play café in Ashford. There are plenty of toys on offer, rhyme time at 11am and a range of hot and cold food and drinks. Bouncing Bunnies will be open during the Summer holidays Monday-Wednesday 9am-12pm. They have an indoor and outdoor play area.

Busy B’s Play Café

Busy B’s is a family run play café in Staines. There are lots of toys and a bouncy castle for the children to enjoy. The café serves a range of hot and cold food and drinks.

Kiddabulous

Kidabulous is a large indoor soft play area in Sunbury-on-Thames, suitable for all children aged 12 years and under. There is a separate Toddler Town area for children aged 4 and under which is dedicated to imaginary play.
