After an incredible 30 years of dedication, we said a very special thank you and goodbye to our Scheme Manager, Mandy Groves.
Mandy was there at the very beginning, helping to set up Home-Start Spelthorne in April 1996 after being appointed in 1995. Her vision, commitment and passion have shaped our charity and helped thousands of local families over the years.
We will miss Mandy enormously — not only for her leadership and knowledge, but also for the care, kindness and enthusiasm she has brought to Home-Start Spelthorne every day.
We celebrated Mandy’s amazing contribution with Trustees and staff at a lovely evening gathering on Monday 29th June. Then, on her final day with us, Tuesday 30th June, we held a drop-in at our office, giving friends, colleagues and supporters the opportunity to wish her well.
A collection was organised for Mandy, and she was incredibly touched by everyone’s generosity. She plans to use it to buy a bracelet, so that whenever she wears it, she will be reminded of Home-Start Spelthorne and all the wonderful friends she has made along the way.
Thank you, Mandy, for everything you have done and for the lasting legacy you leave behind. We wish you a very happy and well-deserved retirement. 💙🏡
