Our Fundraising Team achieved some fantastic results during 2025–26, and we are incredibly grateful for their hard work, commitment, and creativity.
Like many charities, however, we continue to face a gap between the funding we can confidently anticipate and the cost of delivering our services to local families.
We have one remaining year of funding from BBC Children in Need. While it seems unlikely that we will receive further funding through this programme, we are hopeful of working alongside our Surrey consortium colleagues on a future joint funding bid.
We are also entering a period of change in local government. With just ten months remaining before Spelthorne Borough Council becomes part of the new West Surrey unitary authority, we have received our final grant from the Council. Spelthorne Borough Council has been a valued and longstanding supporter of Home-Start Spelthorne, and we are extremely thankful for their support over the years. We hope the new authority will recognise the value of our work and continue to support local families. Any future funding applications are likely to be made jointly with the five West Surrey Home-Start schemes.
At its March 2026 meeting, our Finance Sub-Committee agreed a fundraising target of £55,000 for 2026–27. Achieving this target will help us maintain our services, although there remains a potential funding gap as we look ahead to 2027–28.
Despite these challenges, we remain positive about the future. Our PR and Fundraising Team are already hard at work exploring new opportunities and developing plans to help secure the charity’s long-term sustainability.
